burda:ic Bringing alaplaya Game Portal and Highly-Anticipated Action MMO Land of Chaos Online to North America this Summer

burda:ic today announced plans to bring their alaplaya gaming portal to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico in 2010. The first major addition to the portal, which currently features popular MMOs like Florensia and Fantasy Tennis, will arrive this summer with the launch of Tactical Action MMOG Land of Chaos Online (LOCO) from South Korean F2P developer Danal. By combining real-time strategy elements with third-person combat and a deep RPG foundation, LOCO will provide players with an action-packed gameplay experience.
“We’re convinced that LOCO’s stunning graphics and deep, tactical gameplay will really push the boundaries of the free-to-play MMO market,” said Achim Kaspers, Managing Director of burda:ic.
“Over 4,000,000 registered users have already enjoyed the great community we’ve built for the European market.” said Ingo Griebl, Managing Director of burda:ic. “By providing North American players with an equally dedicated, state-of-the-art infrastructure and offering top-quality games like LOCO, we hope to welcome our 10 millionth worldwide user before the end of 2010.”
LOCO features a roster of 30 unique characters from competing factions that include the Army of Hell and the Forces of Nature. Hulking warriors, evil magicians, giant monsters, and agile gunslingers all stand ready to join the fight, and each one brings a distinct set of strengths and weaknesses to the battlefield. Whether players are tearing through minions to reach a towering boss, destroying enemy camps to clear the map of opponents, or taking on another team in a guild battle, joining up with the right combination of characters is the key to victory in the Land of Chaos.
