2 September 2010, Singapore – With the spirit of providing a single platform for Asiasoft gamers in Southeast Asia to compete, socialize and exchange cultures, the idea for the Inaugural Online Southeast Asia Games (“OSG”) was mooted and is now brought to reality. Presented by @Global Games (“@Global”) and organized by eSports@PlayPark, gamers from the four countries – Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, will compete in various battles for six MMO games ranging from pet battles to fighting terrorists to emerge as the champion in their respective games.

Participants will stand to win over USD30,000 worth of cash and prizes to be won during this inaugural OSG.

First of the tournament highlights will be Warrior Epic, one of the new games that is channeled by @Global recently. They will be running their very first tournament for the Southeast Asia region. It will be a survival of the fittest as the tournament is titled “One Arena … One Survivor… One Champion.” The battle will start with gladiators forming a team of 2 during the initial single elimination rounds. The country champions will also converge in Singapore in December 2010 for the fight to become the survivor of the tournament and the grand champions will win a trip to visit True Games in Austin, USA, jointly sponsored by @Global and True Games.

However, the battle does not end here. The ultimate battle has to be won as the grand champion team will have to face off with each other to become the ultimate survivor and champion and surprises await this ultimate champion.

Another major tournament highlight will be the recently launched Monster Forest, a pet taming MMO Role Playing Game (“MMORPG”). Titled the Monster Forest Battle Royal, this tournament will be a battle among the pets. Expect to see some newly evolved pets with some of their mean looking fighting skills against their opponents, and tamers should also not be fooled by some of the pets’ cute appearances as they can also pack quite a punch during the battle.

Tamers will be grouped into three tiers for the competition, based on their game levels. Through an initial 2 versus 2 elimination process, the battle will ultimately culminate into a single elimination process for the country champion to emerge. The country champions from the highest tier will be brought together for the final battle showdown in Singapore in December 2010 while the remaining two tiers will fight for championships virtually.

One other major tournament highlight not to be missed will be the Sudden Attack SEA Tournament where competitive online First Person Shooter (“FPS”) action comes alive! The game is set in a virtual war zone where teams will have to choose their allegiance as Terrorists or Counter-Terrorists for the battle.

It will be a battle where teamwork plays a vital part for the success of their mission in the game. The tournament will be a true showcase of up and coming gamers as teams from the professional league will only be allowed to participate in the tournament as audience. This will be a chance for amateur league gamers, aiming to go professional, to prove their potential. The top 2 teams from Malaysia and the top 4 teams from Singapore will also compete for the final glory in Singapore in December 2010.

Other tournament highlights will also whet the varied tastes of the gamers. Gamers who prefer the feel of an adrenaline rush can also participate in the RayCity tournaments to be the ultimate racer and the best of all, no driving license is required for the race! However, emulating stunts from the game in actual real life driving is highly prohibited for safety reasons! Racers will need to accumulate points from the races in order to qualify for the grand championships in the OSG.

Enthusiastic Audition clubbers can also join in the fun of OSG as well, with two modes available for competition. Wargaming.net today announced that it has completed phase one of World of Tanks’ closed beta and will proceed to phase two on September 1st, 2010. The latest round of closed beta will see new servers in North America and the introduction of several new features. In addition to retaining all gold and credits, beta testers will also receive 5,000 gold to test out the new features. A “light wipe” will take place to reset players’ tanks back to tier one and convert all experience earned during the previous closed beta into free experience.

Over the seven weeks of testing the game drew attention of more than 70 000 players around the globe with peak con-current users number exceeding 4 000 players. Beta-testers spent 3.2 hours per day at the average on exploring the in-game world what equals to 30 accomplished matches.
