XLGames recently announced the first closed beta for their upcoming fantasy MMORPG, ArcheAge. The closed beta will run from July 22-25 in South Korea. The test is intended for players to try out various in-game features including hunting, housing and destructible architecture. Close beta sign-up will go live from July 9-18 and lucky participants selected for the closed beta will be announced on the 20th.

Formerly developed under the code name Project X2, ArcheAge is a next generation fantasy MMORPG developed by XL Games and led by the designer of Lineage, Jake Song. ArcheAge is also some of the first few MMORPGs in the world developed using CryTech’s CryEngine 2.
