World of Mercenaries Closed Beta Launches

Beta invites are going out for City Interactive’s free online FPS.
The closed beta test for World of Mercenaries has begun and players who have received their beta invites can now download the game via Steam and start playing, developer City Interactive has announced.
Here are some things to expect from the closed beta:
- Two game modes, a classic one and a heavily team-oriented one;
- An ultimate playground that you can cross as you see fit;
- Six different weapons;
- Dual health system;
- Frequent updates and improvements;

Announced back in March, World of Mercenaries is an Unreal Engine 3-powered online first-person shooter where you play as mercenaries seeking fame and fortune. No release window has been announced yet, but the game is expected to launch on Steam as a free-to-play game.
