Browser-Based World of Tanks Spin-off, World of Tanks Generals Announced

New World of Tanks game will combine RTS and TCG elements.

Wargaming announced today World of Tanks Generals, a new free-to-play browser game based on its popular tank-action MMO World of Tanks.

The browser-based title combines elements of real-time strategy and trading card game. You’ll command tanks, artillery and infantry in battles against AI opponents and other players, while working to collect the over 220 collectible cards in the game.

There will be four factions available at launch: the US, U.S.S.R., Germany and France. A tabletop version of the game is also in the works.

“The Wargaming universe is evolving onto new platforms,” said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. “World Of Tanks Generals will merge the worlds of tabletop and video games, featuring solid mechanics, strategic thinking and tactical twists in a fun, approachable way.”

“It will feature the same great multiplayer tank warfare that Wargaming fans have come to love, just from an entirely new perspective.”
